Our Retail Services
Since the deregulation of the water and wastewater retail market in April 2017, Source for Business remains the 5th largest market participant and has the second lowest loss rate amongst retailers.
We are business water specialists with a clear, straightforward approach to customer service, providing water and wastewater retail services to c.180,000 business accounts nationwide. We proactively support our business customers through the provision of expert advice and assist them in saving water and money by ensuring water consumption is as efficient as possible, be this through reducing usage or introducing innovative, alternative solutions.
We have a friendly UK-based customer service centre and industry specialists on hand to provide exceptional customer service. You can rely on us for great value, expert advice, accurate billing and prompt query resolution; always with the promise of simplicity and transparency.
Our retail services can be broken down as the following:
Billing
Our billing system is able to consolidate multiple sites into a single consolidated invoice or to invoice multisite accounts individually. Payment schedules can be set up flexibly in line with contract terms.
Our billing system is widely adopted by retailers and wholesalers to suit the market. We offer a flexible solution and strongly believe that our bill backing data is the most comprehensive in the retail market. These retail charges can be applied to a single head office invoice or applied at a site level to suit centralised or localised budgets.
Meter reading
We work hard with our meter reading contractors to overcome some of the legacy data and access issues, meter reading is critical to accurate billing and to help identify leakage or changes in customer consumption which in turn helps to formulate a view on water efficiency projects.
Meter reads will be provided on a frequency based on the specification shown in the market operators system. When transferring customers to ourselves we will identify any issues with the transfer reads, which will then be communicated and resolved quickly to ensure ongoing bills are accurate and appropriate.
Disruption to supply management
We place all sites on their associated wholesale portal to ensure notification of any disruption is received. We also seek an active agreement with the wholesaler to ensure a quicker response in addition to the service provided by the portal. We would discuss contingency planning with you to ensure alternative supplies could be called upon in the event of a prolonged supply disruption.
Account Management
We have been providing an account managed service to our largest customers for over 15 years. An Account Manager is allocated to all our key account customers across the UK, providing the main point of contact for enquiries from these customers. Account Managers provide a business partner role - ensuring customers are on the most effective tariffs or service plans, providing advice to customers on solutions to help reduce costs or consumption through water management such as water audits and installation of flow monitoring equipment.
In addition to significant experience in the water industry, we ensure our Account Managers are also experienced in the sectors they support – understanding that how customers use water on their sites is as important as understanding the infrastructure that provides it.
A contact number for your account manager will be provided, therefore during standard working hours, your account manager will contactable when available.
